NOTE: If you’ve read The Story part of any of the other Weirdos, feel free to skip to the Super-Powers and Details sections below as the story is very much the same for all of them. They just come out when they’re ready as a design :o)
Also – I’m still learning to get more accurate colours out of my photography, so you’ll see two shades of the Carnelian stone below. The true colour is somewhere in between. It’s a bright orange but deep, not “screaming”.
The Weirdos collection was an entire concept that downloaded itself onto the materials through my hands. It’s not even like I had a choice.
Now – I’m totally aware of how weird (excuse the pun) this will sound to you if you’ve not been in the “making-things-with-your-hands” space, but it’s exactly how it felt at the time.
I wanted to make what I call a “finger crown” ring because I love wearing those, and I find they always bring a bit of fun to wearing jewellery. And are a brilliant form of self-expression that’s easy to change and vary according to how I feel on the day.
So I started to make the shape I had in my mind’s eye… but my pliers took me in a different direction.
Before I knew it, I was making several more of these, and they were (as you’ll see soon) all brothers and sisters in the way they look. But also very individual.
I remember lining the original 5 Weirdos in a line-up, taking a pic, and sending it to my mom; she was instantly in love and said they all looked like they’re from out of space.
Anyway – if you happen to gravitate towards these little guys, consider getting more than one, and definitely get the ones you love now.
This isn’t a marketing scarcity stunt – honest! I just can’t physically replicate these and then also find similar stones. So when the ones on here are gone – they really are GONE.
If they happened to be a big hit – it would have to be because there are no two Weirdos alike… Hey – isn’t that just like in life. All of us, weirdos, are part of the same group, but no two are alike ;o)
Back to style and substance, though.
These finger crowns are an awesome way to add fun and colour to your day. To be weird on your own terms. And if you like to be discretely overt about your style. Make a statement under most radars…
ACTUALLY – these guys can be a test for how alert the people you meet are. So if you’re about to meet someone for the first time, or you’ve met them before but want to know really how well they SEE the world around them you could wear a couple of those and see if they notice… (what a brilliant idea, Anita…)
Additionally – because these are Finger Crown rings they’re adjustable and can be worn on any finger.
As a single or multiples. I like to wear them on my index or nameless fingers, but how you wear them is entirely your choice.
They’d also make a good pinky finger adornment (is this word still in circulation?).
Each of the Weirdos has a message, even if not all have a stone. The Square-up ring has a black tourmaline in the center, which is supposed to heal negative emotions and protect you from others’ negativity.
You know that I always say – the meaning of the stone is a nice addition to what you choose this ring to represent for you :o)
I mentioned above (in my excitement) that all Finger Crown rings that I make are adjustable – so you can wear them on whichever finger the mood points you to on the day (nice pun – no?). You could even wear them as a pinky ring.
Also – because the lines are uninterrupted (like the rings in The Journey collection) – you can wear them upside down and any way around.
This ring is made from brass – which looks very much like 14K gold, but without the price implications. It’s durable and sturdy, but please make sure you read over our quick care tips to ensure you enjoy it for as long as possible :o)
Its dimensions are roughly 1.1cm by 1.1cm. Starting size is 1.5cm all around – but adjustable.
It’s a powerful partnership you should know how to use to your advantage. Your favorite piece of jewellery can be a loyal trigger for a new behaviour or mind-state you’ve been wanting to make into a habit. If you haven’t yet had fun with your jewellery and habit making – here’s how to start :o)
