I kid you not!
I sat in front of these little beauties this morning thinking: what should I call them? What do they say to me… and after a couple of minutes one word kept coming back to me – SPRING.
Maybe because they’re green and playful and abundant. But that was the word that insisted on being their name.
So I wrote that in the header of the post.
Then looked at the stones I’d used for them, just to have an idea of what their super-powers are…
These hearts are made of copper, Green Aventurines, and Gold Rutilated Quartz. And sure enough, the main super-power of the Aventurine is to “Put a Spring in Your Step”! Ha!
Maintaining energy & optimism in challenging times, and making the most of every day.
Add to that the Gold Rutilated Quartz’s super-power of bringing guidance (light) to your intentions (it’s my stone for CREATE in the Signature Totems collection).
And you have yourself a beautiful agent for getting what you want, with springy determination.
Fun and focused! No better combo if you ask me :o)
I had such fun creating these.
A little secret: these are not the first hearts I’ve made in this collection. In fact, hearts are my big love. In every sense of that expression.
My primary guiding value in life is LOVE. So I was determined I’d have a collection dedicated to it.
To me love is everything: it’s the beauty of nature, the beauty of human nature (we’re seeing a lot of that in this Covid-19 crisis), the love between people, or species, respect and kindness, and the sun. In happiness and sadness…
These are actually the very first pair of heart earrings that I made.
The pic is intentionally a bit lower quality to try hide the gazillion flaws in there…
Although, I guess I can just take it as a gauge of how far my skills and care have come in such a short time.
The magic of this craft is that as you learn you get better and braver. But the added nuance is that you need to also be more meticulous.
Anyway – back to Spring (the earrings).
I remember I had the idea of the design just come to me.
It was so spontaneous I had to draw it on paper so as not to forget it. It must have been just before going to bed (that’s my main idea-coming-together time), so I didn’t even have time to open my iPad sketching app.
Later that week I would think of what stones to adorn the frame with.
And since I had done quite a few pieces in gold, black, red and pink already, I wanted to do green. I have some Aventurine stones that I absolutely love (and had been wanting to use for a while).
Then I thought green and gold – now that’s a lively pair :o)
And the rest is history…
These earrings are a perfect balance of fun, colour, and volume. They’re just 6.5cm long and not too busy, so you could use them to brighten up a more serious outfit, or to smarten up a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.
In any case – wear them with confidence and clarity.
What is the feeling you get when you look at them? (even if you don’t love green – I know green can be fussy).
It’s a powerful partnership you should know how to use to your advantage. Your favorite piece of jewellery can be a loyal trigger for a new behaviour or mind-state you’ve been wanting to make into a habit. If you haven’t yet had fun with your jewellery and habit making – here’s how to start :o)
