I wanted to make a simple and gentle shape that is also strong. Hence the combination of thick and thin metal, and the contrast of the vulnerability of tiny freshwater pearls against the hardness of the metal.
They can be your “anything” statement to yourself or the people you’re around. The size of the pearls make them sophisticated but not restrictive. You could wear them with jeans and a crisp white shirt, just as easily as a flowing evening dress.
As I alluded – the little pearls are a symbol of softness and femininity. But pearls are also revered for their regal presence. So if you’re aiming to send a message of “I’m flexible but you can’t push me around” – I’d say you’d be spot on with these.
The cuff can be shaped to your ear shape – and it’s meant to just contour your lobe. The stud is small – just about half a centimeter.
The base metal here is brass – which is very close looking to 14k gold. It can tarnish a little – making it deeper yellow – like antique gold. But it’s simple to clean with gentle soapy water, and a polish cloth (which they will come with).
Just like with any natural metal jewelry, avoid exposing it to perfumes, deodorants, hairspray, and so on.
